| Why Survey? |

March 2010 by The Church Construction Resource Center Input from members is very important to the positive spiritual impact from a building program. The following are a few examples: listening is commanded (Jas 1:19), leadership must listen with understanding and a servant's heart (I Kings 12 and Ex 18), and making recommendations without input can hurt the credibility of leadership (Pro18:13). Larger church ministries should consider a feasibility study. For a survey to be useful, you need as high a response rate as possible. We recommend having the survey filled out during a church function-Sunday School is ideal-and returned immediately. If you allow members to take the survey home to fill out, the likelihood that they will return it drops dramatically. The following link contains a sample cover letter and survey, which can be modified to suit your ministry. Sample Survey |
